helping with Medicaid renewals

Helping your patients and clients renew their Medicaid coverage.

Health care providers and community organizations can play a critical role in helping people who are still Medicaid-eligible keep their coverage. We’re here to make sure you have everything you need to keep your patients who still qualify for Medicaid from losing coverage.

What are Medicaid renewals?

Each year, the Louisiana Department of Health conducts a review of all Medicaid members’ finances and family situations. This review, also called redetermination, is to determine who still qualifies for healthcare coverage through Medicaid.

Medicaid renewals were on pause during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Redetermination returned in April 2023. All Medicaid members must complete the Medicaid renewal process by June 2024, but not everyone will renew at once. Then, each year prior to their anniversary date, Medicaid will contact members about their annual renewal.
