To renew your Medicaid coverage, you need to follow the instructions in your renewal letter by the deadline on your letter.
There are four (4) ways to submit the information to renew your coverage:
Remember to check the due date on your renewal letter. You will need to submit the requested information by the deadline or your Medicaid coverage could be interrupted. This means you may not be able to see your doctor or get your prescriptions until your renewal is processed, even if you are still eligible.
You may need to provide the following:
Have questions? You can contact your Medicaid regional office or call the Louisiana Medicaid hotline at 1-888-342-6207, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Good news! Your Medicaid coverage has been automatically renewed for another year. You don’t need to do anything else to keep your coverage.

Not everyone will renew at the same time. Be sure to log into MyMedicaid.LA.Gov and keep your mailing address, cellphone number, and email address up to date. This will help make sure you get important letters, emails and texts when it is your time to renew.
Once you complete your renewal for Medicaid, you can expect a decision by mail within 45 days. If your renewal is related to a disability, it may take up to 90 days to receive a decision.
If you are no longer eligible for Medicaid, it is important to quickly apply for other health insurance so that you stay covered. Ask your job about health insurance or visit Healthcare.gov to find a marketplace (“Obamacare”) health plan. Financial help is available and many people find a plan for $10 a month or less. IMPORTANT: You only have 60 days after your Medicaid coverage ends to enroll in a new Marketplace plan during the “Special Enrollment Period.” If you miss this window, you will have to wait for the next Marketplace Open Enrollment Period to enroll in coverage for the following year.
